    Hello!

With regards to your questions, all nationals of non-EU countries need a valid work permit to be allowed to work as an au pair in Belgium. You will work in your host family in exchange of free accommodation and allowance. It is your host family who will have to apply for an employment authorisation and a type B work permit for your stay. Your work permit is only valid for 12 months and cannot be extended. It has also age limit.

On the other hand, you can apply for Cohabitation Visa if you are in a stable and long term relationship with a Belgian national. There are specific requirements in applying for this kind of visa. It is important that you can prove that you have known each other for at least 2 years.

Regarding the sponsor, I think it is possible to apply for a visa to visit Belgium even your partner is not the sponsor of your trip, as long as you can prove the relationship between you and the sponsor. It is important that your sponsor is financially stable. If I am not mistaken, I believe that there are already some Filipinas I have encountered who applied for a visa with their in-laws as the sponsor.

    I hope this helps. Goodluck!

    Greetings,
    Kathleen

Hi, can anyone explain to me the visa for Au Pair and visa for Cohabitation? What's the difference between the two and who takes those kinds of visa? How long can you stay? I can't find any explanation kasi from the embassy website :(

And also, for the visa for family visit or private invitation, is it okay if the sponsor of the trip isn't the person I am connected with? for example, the mother of my boyfriend will do the sponsor on his behalf?

    Thanks for the help!

    Hello!

I can send you the file I made but just to inform you there is a new procedure now in getting an appointment in the embassy when you lodge your visa application. You can check the website about it. Where can I send the file?

    Greetings,
    Kathleen

    Hello ladies,

I've been together with my boyfriend for 1 year and 7 months now and we still didn't meet yet. I want to apply for a visa 'to meet a friend' to meet him in belgium and just stay for about 14 days. My problem is, I am currently unemployed so we planned for him or his father to sponsor me. Adding to my problem, both my boyfriend and his father doesn't have a work, but they are in an organization that gives them money every month.
so my question is, do you guys think that they will approve my visa knowing I am currently unemployed? and is this money that they get from the organization in Belgium enough proof for their financial statement?

Oh and btw is it better to get an assistance from a travel agency or is it a waste of time and money? :(

I hope someone could help me! thank you :)
