Medical Alert Bracelets

Posted in France forum

Hello everyone!
I have type 1 diabetes and I am moving to Paris for 1+ year. I wanted to know if it is common to use medical alert bracelets in France and if emergency responders know to look for medical alert jewelry in case of an emergency.
I also would like to know if I write the information in English "Diabetes Type 1" if that would be understood by most French people or if I would need to translate it to French?

Thank you for your help!!

The words for diabetes and insulin as exceptionally similar in French. It is not important if you are type 1 or 2, it is the insulin dependent bit that is important. But tbh, all they need to know is that you are a diabetic, if they find that and you are unconscious, the first thing ambulance people are going to do is check your sugar levels.
I would imagine whatever country you are in, that is you have an unconscious casualty with no obvious reason for it that they are trained to look for a bracelet or necklace
