I am planning on moving to Germany in the (hopefully) near future and would like some clarification for the process I should take. I am from the US and understand that I do not need a visa to visit Germany, up to 90 days. As this is not enough time to get all the bureaucracy completed, and as I want to live in Berlin, I should apply for a residence permit. Will I be able to get this permit based on the fact that I am getting married? Is there another way for me to extend my stay? I've heard of going to Denmark to get married quick, then turning in the license and applying for the residence permit, though this sounds fishy to me.
