Rejecting gifts in Israel

Posted in Israel forum

Shalom everyone!
Question for Israelis: is it normal to reject gifts in Israel?
Quick background: I work in South Korea and we had a project with an Israeli company. As a sign of appreciation, we offered to send them face masks as gifts, but they rejected it. Is it a cultural thing?

No, rejecting gifts is not a common practice in Israel. However, I am not sure that face masks are considered a nice gift in Israeli society. Some people in Israel are pretty anti-mask and may be unhappy with such an offer.
