Import car to Spain

When importing a car to Spain there are some things to look out for. I did import one from Switzerland, so my experience could be different as Switzerland is not in the EU.
What I was told is that you should import your car as soon as possible after registering in Spain. If you import your car after a certain time (I think it was 6 or 12 months not sure anymore) you can import it tax-free. After this time you pay a percentage of the book price of your car.
All the rest is a question of time - if you do have enough time you can do the paperwork and rest yourself. If you are very busy think of contracting a professional that will do that work for you.
